With animated films continuing to show their dominance, “Toy Story 3″ was the far and away winner at the box office.
The family-friendly flick has received rave reviews, which helped lead the way to a Pixar opening record take of $111 million over the Father’s Day weekend.
While “Toy Story 3″ claimed the top spot, “The Karate Kid” continued to do well by placing second with weekend earnings of $28.5 million.
Rounding out the top five were “The A-Team” at $13 million, “Get Him to the Greek” at $5.7 million and “Shrek Forever After” at $5.5 million.
Meanwhile, Megan Fox’s new movie “Jonah Hex” had a dismal showing – as it was struggling to crack $5 million on its opening weekend.
