Tiger Woods knew he?d have some jitters in his game, but he didn?t know he?d be so nervous.
The golf star, who slowly moved back onto the PGA tour after his sex scandal came out in November, had a hard time getting back into the swing of things.
Two weeks of missing the cut at the Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte, N.C., he dropped out of The Players Championship on Sunday after suffering a neck injury.
Adding onto this, his coach, Hank Haney, resigned via a text message two days later.
The 34-year-old explained at the news conference, “For me not to play all 18 holes [at TPC], that was as angry and as frustrated as I’ve been in a long time.?
Woods does not blame his neck injury for his car accident, but calls the pain ?annoying.? “[The injury] actually was getting worse,” Woods said, “and now I’m at a point now where I just can’t go anymore.”
Besides the physical problems, it is clear that his emotions are paying a toll on him, as well.
“[My game is] certainly not where I would like to have it, there’s no doubt,” he told reporters. “There’s a lot of things going on in my life, period, right now. [I'm] just trying to get everything in a harmonious spot, and that’s not easy to do.”
