He?s been reticent to open himself up to the media up to this point, but just moments ago Tiger Woods gave a very transparent look into his life during his Masters pre-tournament press conference.
Held in Augusta, Georgia, the media event lasted just over thirty minutes and covered everything from Woods? expectations for his PGA return to his remorse over his multiple extramarital affairs.
Tiger noted that six weeks in rehab have made him a ?much better person,? though he?s still upset over the ?constant harassment to my family.? He also shared that he?s ?more nervous? to be competing after his sex scandal, and hoping that fans would accept his apology and support his return to golf.
Regarding his sex addiction treatment, Woods revealed that he decided ?just prior to Christmas? to go to rehab despite the fact that he would miss his son Charlie?s first birthday. ?That was very hard that day. It is something I will regret for the rest of my life.?
Taking responsibility for his wrongdoings, Tiger stated,?I acted terribly, horribly. I made incredibly bad decisions?.I fooled myself as well. I lied to a lot of people.?
Throughout his treatment, Woods remember something his late father said to him years ago- ?In order to help people you have to first learn to help yourself.?
And as far as expectations for his return to professional golf- ?Nothing?s changed. I?m trying to go out there and win this thing.?
