Mel Gibson Turns 55 After a Tough Year

Having waded his way through an agonizingly difficult year, Mel Gibson is celebrating his 55th birthday today (January 3).

The “Lethal Weapon” actor has spent many of the past 365 days dealing with legal woes, though he was able to shoot the upcoming movie “The Beaver” – which hits theaters on April 8, 2011.

Fittingly enough, reports tell that Mel’s estranged babymama Oksana Grigorieva is expected to be in court today for a deposition regarding her legal drama with Gibson.

A source told Radar Online, “Oksana spent the weekend preparing for what will be a significant week for her. She is scheduled to be deposed as many as three times this week. It will be critical to the case.”
